We kickstarted our Departure Day by mummifying an Ancient Egyptian.
We took out the organs and placed them in Canopic jars. We took care to use a hook to take the brain out through the nose.
We talked about why this was done, and what would have happened to the poorer Egyptians.
We completed the lesson by mummifying apples. We used salt to dry out the flesh. We will check the apple in a few weeks’ time to see what has happened.
