Countryside Live 2018

Year 6 had a brilliant day out today at Countryside Live, a country fair for primary children held at the Ledston Estate in Leeds.

They...

... learned about the day-to-day jobs of a vet...

... saw how the Police approach crimes against wildlife...

... learned how to work out the age of trees (even if they've not been cut down)...

... weaved willow into beautiful circles...

... made dragonflies and learned about how they fly.

We also got the chance to stroke many different animals (dogs, more dogs, pygmy goats, donkeys and even more dogs), watch a hooded vulture in flight, learn some fascinating facts about different sheep breeds and generally soak up the atmosphere of a beautiful spring May day in the great outdoors.
