What a marvellous Monday - may the 4th be with you Class 4! It was wonderful to catch up with some of you last week and hear your voices. I will be catching up with the rest of you this week.
I'm looking forward to when we can all meet again - don't know where, don't know when but I'm sure it will at some point in the near future - keep smiling!
Alongside our key home learning that we've been following weekly (see below) we have a new research project this week - can you guess what it is? Yes - VE Day.
History/ Research Project
Study the VE Day information in each Powerpoint ( Links below) and from your own research to answer the following questions.
1. What is VE Day?
2. When did it take place?
3. How was it announced?
4. How was VE Day celebrated?
5. How did it feel to be there on the day? from a soldier's perspective/ a child's perspective.
You could write a newspaper article/factfile/powerpoint - remember to always check your work (SPaG) and send your finished piece to the school email address - I love seeing your amazing work.
VE Day Art
VE Day was commemorated in many ways, including the production of special cups. Design your own VE Day cup, make it bright and eye catching - what could you include on your design?

'Stay at Home' Street Party - How did people celebrate VE Day? what decorations went up? what did they eat? ( Your favourite Louis - spam sandwiches?) You could make your very own Union Jack bunting - be inventive. I'd love to see your ideas.
VE Day Music
Check out the Horrible Histories VE day song and research songs that were popular in WW2 - perhaps you could record yourself singing (We have some beautidul singing voices in Class 4) or playing one of the songs on an instrument ( Piano, Ruby?).

Writing - Pobble 365 – just go to the pobble website (pobble365) and chose one that you like. Please remember to add the date of the one you chose to your title so I can share it when we get back to school.
Handwriting and Spelling – 15 mins per day, using the statutory word lists provided. Or use Spelling Shed website (EDSHED)
