Departure day - we started our learning journey about the Benin Kingdom.
To start with we did a quiz to see if we already knew anything about this period in history. Most children in Oak Class had never heard of the Benin Kingdom.... we then learnt key information facts about it. Where it was, when it was and how we know about this civilisation.
The one key artefact we looked at were the bronze masks that were made my the people of Benin. After studying them the children got to make their own creations using clay.
