The children started their geography topic today. We found out what the children already knew and recorded their ideas on speech bubbles. The children knew a lot about koalas and kangaroos but not as much about the country. We studied how Australia is divided into different territories and the children learnt the names of each one. We enjoyed looking at Australia on the map and the children explained that it must be a hot country as it was near the equator. They were able to link their knowledge from the Caribbean topic. Supper geography work!
