Today I introduced the class to what mechanisms are. We explored the different language associated with mechanisms, such as loose pivot and fixed pivot. Each child then created their own mechanism. We learnt the importance of making the levers long enough to attach the designs to. Everyone I asked was able to identify the fixed and loose pivots. These skills will come in handy when designing and making their own moving pictures. Watch this space!
