We were lucky enough to book a slot with Claire Cavendish from the Canal River Trust. She led an online session designed to explore how the canals aided the Industrial Revolution. We learnt where the term ‘horse power’ comes from, why people lived near water, and who created the canals. Without them factory owners would struggle to transports their goods.
