We heard about a project called Postcards of Kindness which was asking for postcards to be sent to residents of care homes.  The project has found that the postcards evoke happy memories for dementia sufferers and gives them something to look back on and talk about.

Class 3 decided that this was not only the perfect way to practise our informal writing skills (using a friendly and chatty style) but it was also the perfect way to put our school Ethos statements about kindess into practice in real life.

The children worked in pairs to come up with ideas for their postcards, making sure that they kept their identities safe.  The postcards have been sent to care homes in the Yorkshire area.
