We spent time discussing the significance of the Poppy on Remembrance Day. We explored how the soldiers must have felt and how thankful we should be for their sacrifice. We created our own poppies, writing on keywords based upon our discussion. We walked to the war memorial and placed them there to respect those that had given their lives so that we could have a tomorrow.
We then spent some time discussing why it is important to remember, and we learnt a poem that we recited to the rest of the school when we visited the war memorial.
