Sycamore class have been investigating how fossils are formed. Firstly, we learnt about Mary Anning, who was a famous scientist who explored fossils. We then created our own flow chart to demonstrate how a fish can become a fossil!!! Take a look at the pictures in the gallery.
After that, we considered how soil is formed. We had three different samples to investigate. Firstly, we looked at the key features of the soil as they were all different. We then observed what happened when we added small amounts to water. We have learnt that the soil mixes with the water, however over time it settles to the bottom of the container, like sediment in a river.
