Our Departure Day maths challenge

We have had our departure activities over the last two days. Our aim was to immerse ourselves in our topic, 'Natural Disasters'.

Firstly, we explored what rescue teams were, and carried out some maths based problem solving activities to organise a rescue mission for a volcanic eruption.

Next, we spent time exploring different types of 'Natural Disasters'. We discussed what each were and what they can cause. Then we each created a table to show each disaster.

Finally, we visited the town of Pompeii by using 'Now, Press, Play. We explored what it must have been like back in 79CE when Mt Vesuvius erupted. We will be writing a letter to a friend explaining what happened.

We all enjoyed our Departure Day and look forward to learning more about 'Natural Disasters'.
